-L'Open Air Tour s'est transporté jusqu'en Caroline du Nord pour un 111 éme concert au Kenan Stadium. Le show a été quelque peu perturbé par un bombardement d'insectes, et Bruce, après en avoir saisi un, s'est exclamé : "C'est quoi ce truc ? La mascotte de l'école ? Je croyais que les moustiques du New Jersey étaient gros !" Le concert a lui aussi été imposant, mais le New Jersey a rarement été gratifié de 10 chansons dans les rappels. Parmi les temps forts, on notera "I walk the line", en hommage à Johnny Cash, pour la seconde fois, une émouvante version de "American Skin (41 Shots)" juste après "Mary's Place" et la première apparition de "Brilliant disguise" sur cette tournée, en ouverture des seconds rappels et à la demande du public. Mais le grand moment de la soirée a peut-être été l'interprétation de la sous-estimée "Living Proof", que le E Street Band exécutait pour la première fois en public. "Jungleland" a été jouée pour la seconde fois de suite, et Clarence "The Big Man… on Campus" a été magistral sur le solo. Et dans un élan très spontané, une femme parmi le public a fait un geste de la main, avant d'être amenée sur scène pour "Dancing in the dark"… et il ne s'agissait pas de Courtney Cox !
