Livre : Little Steven - The disciple of soul

J’essaye toujours d’écrire les livres que j’aimerais lire. Comme ils n’existent pas, je m’en charge ! En novembre 2020, Steve Van Zandt fêtera ses 70 ans et près de 50 ans de carrière et aucun ouvrage, ni en France ni ailleurs, ne lui a jamais été consacré. Ce livre raconte son histoire, depuis son enfance jusqu’à aujourd’hui, à travers tous les groupes, tous les disques, toutes les tournées et toutes les séries auxquelles il a participé.

C’est par ces mots, que Thierry Jourdain nous présente son dernier ouvrage entièrement consacré Steve Van Zandt.

Steven Van Zandt peut se vanter d'avoir intégré deux des plus belles familles artistiques du vingtième siècle, toutes deux liées à l'humanité et à la fidélité qu'il incarne aux yeux de ses pairs. Au début des années mille-neuf-cent-soixante-dix, ses amis musiciens du New Jersey lui trouvent rapidement le surnom de « Miami Steve » puis il se crée celui de « Little Steven » qui deviendra son nom de scène à part entière. S'il est avant tout connu pour être l'ami fidèle de Bruce Springsteen, qui lui fait intégrer officiellement en 1975 son E Street Band, il fait également partie du casting mafieux le plus populaire des séries américaines, The Sopranos. Auteur, compositeur, arrangeur, producteur, il fonde son propre label, Wicked Cool Records, et anime également, depuis 2002, Little Steven's Underground Garage, un podcast célébrant chaque semaine le Rock dans tous ses états ....
