Je dirais que somewhere north of Nashville et Inyo sont ceux qui m'excitent peut-être le plus car proche de Tom Joad si j'ai bien compris en tout cas en terme de période.
Faithless est celui qui m'intrigue le plus.
Mais en fait j'ai vraiment du mal à répondre à ta question. Je t'avoue que ça va quand même ressembler à une plongée dans l'inconnu hormis peut être perfect world...
J'ai trouvé ça sur BTX (par quelqu'un qui a l'air d'avoir une bonne compréhension des projets).
Je ne sais pas si ses pronostics sont justes. Une petite chose, je suis surpris que les sessions un peu mystérieuses de 87 avec des musiciens country n'aient rien donné. A moins que Springsteen ait recyclé des bouts dans le Somewhere In Nashville (??).
A whole lot of stuff coming at us all at once, but here are my thoughts on the box at this moment.
DISC ONE: 18 tracks just like Mretrain said. I have heard many of these songs on bootlegs, but definitely not all. Which of these songs have not been heard in any version? "Black Mountain Ballad" is one I'm definitely not familiar with, but it's possible that we have heard of it under a different title. I'm hoping that Max has done some work here on these songs...
DISC TWO: This album had two different titles at one point, "Blind Spot" and Waiting On the End of the World" only to end up without a real title at all for some inexplicable reason. The track list seems to answer the question of whether he was working on two different albums in 1994. It was only one album, and Shayne Fontayne was more right than Toby Scott about some of the details. The strangest omission here is "Father's Day" - one of the three songs available to listen to the Library of Congress. In the short video she can see a slash line through that song.
DISC THREE: FAITHLESS may be scariest of all of the albums for me. Sounds like a gospel album with at least three instrumentals. I have no idea why this disc is near the front of the box when it was supposedly written and recorded in the 2000s. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but this one may not well be for me. I have it currently ranked dead last for me in terms of pre-listen interest. One oddity: the readable notes on this album says it shares traits with "Inyo." Not sure what to make of that just yet.
DISC FOUR: NASHVILLE Right now, at this moment the next three albums feel like they are going to be the sweet spot of the box for me. Just from the song titles alone, you can see how they might flow as actual albums. So it looks like "Delivery Man" and BITUSA outtakes "Janey, Don't You Lose Heart/Under a Red Sky/Stand On It have been reworked with a small country rock band. Thought it was amusing that these 3 titles were on the same album - Delivery Man/Repo Man/Detail Man.
DISC FIVE: INYO seems to be the first of two consecutive albums from the ton of songs written during the Western Stars era. A couple of songs are definitely from the mid 90s though - "One False Move" and also "Indian Town" (the latter was on the 6CD Tracks sampler.) I think we will be hearing some mariachi flavored murder ballads on this one. "Cindad Juarez" has long been rated among the most dangerous cities in the world. The readable notes from the INYO album in the video talks about the BTR song "Meeting Across the River." Here is hoping...
DISC SIX: TWILIGHT HOURS I am much more enthused about this disc than I was yesterday now that I have a better understanding of it. Last night I listed a bunch of songs that I thought could be on INYO by their titles. Many of them actually turned up on that record while several more appear on this one instead - High Sierra/Sunliner/Follow the Sun. I just think these songs are primarily from the same huge WS era sessions, only they morphed into two separate lost albums. I think this might be closer to 1950s Frank Sinatra orchestral style of music. I do love how the song titles sort of paint a picture that you can imagine Frank singing. I know this record could end up a trainwreck, but to me it sounds far more interesting than a generic rock record. Speaking of which...
DISC SEVEN: PERFECT WORLD This one definitely feels cobbled together from all sorts of bits and pieces. I simply don't think he can write rock music like he used to, or certainly not without some serious strain. A lot of these songs he attempted to record on at least two previous occasions, only to leave the records unfinished. Not much to say about this one for me. Maybe it will be better than I think.
Moi je crains quand même que ce ne soit pas terrible, que la nature de fonds de tiroir de ces morceaux qui ont quand même été écartés pour une raison, nous fasse sentir le prix vraiment trop élevé (pour ceux qui auront cassé leur tirelire). D’un autre côté, je suis content que Bruce sorte ces morceaux de son vivant… mais ça repousse encore à plus tard la question qui m’intéresse : a t’il encore des chansons à écrire et à 75 ans des choses à raconter ? C’est quand même un énième retour sur le passé, et il y en a eu beaucoup ces 10 dernières années…
Sinon je reste attaché au support physique car je suis totalement anti-streaming, et que j’ai toujours des lecteurs de cd chez moi et dans ma voiture.
Pas de streaming pour moi, ce sera le coffret cd, il faudra juste que je limite les achats de whisky et de cigares, donc facilement réalisable même si le combo des 3 permet de passer d'excellents moments....
Vu la qualité plus que discutable du single choisi parmi 80+, je pense que la qualité globale ne doit pas être tip top.
ça sent le stream une fois par curiosité et l'on y remettra plus trop les pieds.
J'espère me tromper et qu'il y aura quelques exceptions.
Le choix du single est un peu lunaire. Du Bruce époque Aniello pas terrible, on en a déjà eu plein. Sortir ça alors qu'il y a plein de chansons qui intéressent 100 fois plus les fans qui sont pour le coup la cible du coffret, c'est incompréhensible. La seule raison que je peux imaginer, c'est que c'est un morceau que Springsteen a envie d'ajouter à ses setlists pour le prochain leg de sa tournée.
C'est pourtant la logique habituelle de John Landau. Le coffret physique ne s'adresse qu'aux fans hardcore (les masos dont on parlait hier), mais pour faire parler du coffret dans les media et vendre un peu de streams, il faut un titre qui puisse passer en radio (en vrai il va y passer très peu mais on fait comme si) et donc on privilégie un premier extrait mainstream avec un son super-contemporain (ou du moins l'idée qu'Aniello s'en faisait en 2012). A mon avis, ce single ultra-compressé mais plutôt bien interprété n'est représentatif que du dernier cd du coffret. Il va sûrement y avoir d'autres extraits d'ici la fin juin.
Je suis d'accord sur la question du prix mais bon c'est à l'image des prix des places de concert malheureusement, je suis très impatient d'avoir l'objet et les différents descriptifs des albums m'intriguent beaucoup. J'ai longtemps rêvé de l'album des sessions de Street of. J'aime beaucoup les projets hors Estreet de Bruce.

Yep j'ai reçu le même mail que toi je suppose et j'ai fait quelques calculs
Avec les taxes japonaises on arrive à 222. Avec les frais de ports 241 (via DHL)
Et surtout je pense qu'il a y a grandes chances qu'à l'arrivée on ait en plus des frais de douanes ;o(
Enfin bref perso moi je ne m'y risquerais pas pour gagner quelques euros
